On the 30th of May 2015, the 22nd edition of the Lauwersloop will take place. The Lauwersloop is a relay race over 115 km from Leeuwarden to Groningen, divided into 18 stage, 12 men’s stages and 6 women’s stages. Those varying from 2 till 11,6 km.
At 7.00 the race will start at the NHL in Leeuwarden. There will be three restarts, to make sure the whole field of runners does nog stretch out too far. These restarts take place in Dokkum, Lauwersoog, Eenrum and Zuidwolde. The participants of the race wear a runners vest which contains a chip that registers the stage times. Every runner is accompanied by a teammate by bike for navigation, safety and of course the moral support.
To participate in the Lauwersloop, the teamcaptain has to subscribe a team. When subscribing, it is not necessary to have a full team. You can fill up your team until a week before the race. Registration happens online and during the period till the 30th of April. More info click here.
WANTED: volunteers for the 22e edition of the Lauwersloop
Are you injured, untrained or do you just not want to run? Still, you can be part of the 22nd edition of the Lauwersloop. Become a volunteer! The Lauwersloop is searching for approximately 100 volunteers who would help with the construction and dismantling of restarts, controlling traffic, taking care of the timing or want to make photos.
