THE ACLO MOVES TO THE CITY CENTRE!
In September 2015 the ACLO will open an extra accommodation in the former KPN Building near the Central Station Groningen. For a long time the ACLO wanted to meet the wishes of our students to settle down more near the city centre.
Now the ACLO and its sportfacilities are housed at the Zernike-complex. With the new location at the ‘Stationsplein’ students from the University of Groningen and University of Applied Sciences (Hanzehogeschool) Groningen have the opportunity to play sports near the city centre. From September 2015 open hours and fitness facilities will be offered for all the ACLO-members. There will be no extra costs to play sports at this location. The accommodation will also be used by some of our student sports associations.
Furthermore, the former KPN Building will used as residence of the students of the University College Groningen. The ACLO will have its sport facilities on the ground floor, the students will be housed on the other floors.
An extra accommodation closer the centre of Groningen has been an ambition of the ACLO for a long time. The location near the Central Station will be an temporary location for a period of three to five years. A final accommodation of the ACLO in the city centre is planned to be at the ‘Healthy Ageing Campus’ near the UMCG, also together with University College Groningen and the Usva.
