Course
G.S.P.V. Parafrid does not offer a regular course. If Parafrid is going to offer one, it will be announced in time on the schedule of the ACLO.
During the five lesson course you learn the basics of horseback riding. You will learn how to steer your horse, how to make tempo changes, but also how to prepare your horse for a lesson and how to take care of your horse after the lesson.
The course is given at riding school “de Bongerd” in Glimmen (20 minutes by public transport from Groningen main station). During the lessons it is obliged to wear a cap, shoes with a small heel and gloves. You can borrow a cap and shoes at the riding school, but you have to bring gloves yourself. Remember that these are not too thick (so no ski gloves), because these are not suitable.
G.S.P.V. Parafrid
G.S.P.V. Parafrid is the student horse back riding association in Groningen. They give dressage lessons every week at manege de Bongerd in Glimmen (about 20 minutes by public transport from Groningen Central Station). Dressage lessons are possible at all levels, whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience. Every other week it is also possible to ride a jumping lesson, provided that you have enough dressage experience.
Besides the weekly club lessons it is also possible to gain competition experience. They regularly travel across the country to compete against other student riders in other student cities. These competitions contain besides the sporting aspect also a lot of fun with always a big theme party.
This sociability is not only found at these competitions, but also at Parafrid itself. There are many activities and drinks organized with the annual club weekend as a highlight! These are organized by the committees of Parafrid where you can of course be part of.
