From tomorrow (7th of May 2018) onwards it is possible to reserve the brandnew Padel court. So ask you friends and reserve the padelcourt for free with your ACLO Card with three friends.

So what is padel?

Padel originates in Spain, where it is even bigger than tennis and is the most played sport after soccer. Padel is a combination of tennis and squash. It’s 2 against 2 on a court surrounded by glass. These glass walls are part of the game. The technique is not difficult and this makes it an easy sport to learn! After 5 minutes, one can play rallies. Padel is a very spectacular sport: it’s fast, there’s a lot of action and the game is tactical!

Rules

  • It is played with 4 players, 2 versus 2.
  • The scoring is the same as tennis (15, 30, 40 en ‘game’). Six games are needed to win a set and the team which wins two sets wins the game.
  • A game is started by serving diagonally. The server must be behind the service line and serve underhand.
  • Once the ball is in play, all balls which cross the net must first bounce on the ground on the opponent’s side before hitting a wall. It may bounce once and be hit once.
  • You may play via your own wall.
  • Padel has to be played with padelballs (tennisballs are not allowed!), which you can buy at the service desk of the Sport Center for €6,50. You can rent a racket for €1,00.
