Introduction of the event
The largest student sport-event in the Netherlands is coming to Groningen: the GNSK! In the weekend 17th, 18th and 19th off june, 1800 students will travel to the coolest studentcity in the Netherlands. Here they will compete in 17 different disciplines to become Dutch Student Champion. The GNSK 2016 is being held for the 58th time. This three day event will take place at the Zernike Campus, Sportcentrum Leek and Schermcentrum Noord, where the different student city’s will compete for the title. The GNSK is being held in a different city every year. Last year the event was in Amsterdam and next year the event will take place in Eindhoven. The organizing city will form a board, which is made up out of zeven studentes who will organize the event from scratch. So it’s really an event organized by and for students! This makes it a special event for participants, because the organization knows by experience what it’s like to be a student. Besides the titel of Dutch Student Champion per sport, there is a city ranking. The city which has performed the best in all 17 sports may call herself the best student sport city of Holland!
