HIIT!

H.I.I.T. (short for High Intensity Interval Training) is a training method in which you work out on a short and intensive level varied with short rest moments. H.I.T.T. increases your stamina and endurance, and complements the fat burning process.

Every workout focuses on mental as well as physical aspect. Where one training emphasis strength and muscle endurance other will emphasize stamina, cardio and core stability. During the workouts body weight, dynabands, kettlebells, circuits are used. Some exercises you have to do with a partner.

The advantage of H.I.T.T is that you can participate on your own level. Also a sense of rhythm is not compulsory, all exercises are done on your own pace.

Informative facts:

  • It is very effective for shedding fat: HIIT has been shown to increase a person’s resting metabolic rate (RMR) for 24 hours following the workout. That means for a full day after a HIIT session, your body is burning more calories than it normal.
  • HIIT has also been shown to be an efficient way to build endurance: A study demonstrated that over a two week period, 2.5 hours worth of sprint interval training produced the same biomechanical improvements as 10 hours of traditional aerobic exercise.
  • In addition to endurance improvements and burning calories, HIIT training also improves anerobic abilities, meaning more explosive strength, power and speed, benefits not gained from lower intensity aerobic activity.
