Update corona 18/12

Dear Sporters,

Unfortunately, it was announced at tonight’s press conference that all of our indoor sports locations (including the indoor tennis courts) will have to close from tomorrow, December 19, through at least January 14.

For the outdoor sports venues, the government has established the following frameworks:

  • Outdoor sports locations will remain open for all ages between 05:00 and 17:00 hours. For adults 18 years and above, outdoor sports are allowed with a maximum of 2 people at 1.5 meters distance.

For club sports, this offers such limited opportunities for sports. This in combination with the holidays, we have decided that for club sports we will also close the outdoor sports locations for this period.

For the unbound outdoor sports (tennis and padel) that are still allowed, we will close our facilities on the 19th of Sunday and on the 20th of December. On Monday, a meeting between ACLO, Sports Center, RUG and Hanze will take place. A final decision will then be made regarding any possibilities for these sports from Tuesday, December 21 through January 14.

For all sports associations with a clubhouse, the clubhouses will be closed until at least the 14th of January.

Further information will follow next Monday, December 20.

Despite this disappointing news, we wish you happy holidays and a, in all forms, athletic 2022.  In het coming year ACLO and the Sports Center will do our best to make the concept of sports as successful as possible.

Kind regards,

The 76st Executive Board of the ACLO & the Management of the Sports Center
