Update corona measures 03/11

Good afternoon,

New measures have been communicated by the government on Wednesday. This message lists what it means for athletes and clubs:

Basic rules

The basic rules mentioned below still apply:

  • Wash your hands carefully and regularly.
  • Give others enough space. 1.5 meters remains a safe distance.
  • Stay at home if you have any symptoms, even if they are mild, and get tested immediately by the GGD. Even if you are already vaccinated.
  • After a positive test result, you have to stay at home and avoid contact with others, even if they are vaccinated.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow
  • Please ensure that there is sufficient fresh air and ventilation in inside spaces.

Mandatory face masks

It is mandatory to wear a face mask in all University and Hanzehogeschool buildings when moving through the building. You may remove your face mask when you are seated.

Outdoor

For outdoor sports, the rules regarding the QR code check do not apply for the time being. This means that the matches and trainings can take place in the regular way, of course respecting the basic rules.

Indoor sports

The decision of the RUG and the Hanze that this weekend in any case no QR code check needs to take place has been extended until Friday, the 12th of November, 6 PM. This gives the Sports Center and the ACLO time to properly set up the corona check. In the course of next week more information will follow on how the checks will take place.

Clubhouses

The clubhouses on RUG grounds are considered educational locations. This means that it is mandatory to wear a face mask when moving through the building. When sitting, the mouth mask may be removed. However, if QR code scanning is used upon entry, a face mask need not be worn during movement. Associations may also decide to scan part of the day or week and maintain the face mask requirement the other part of the day or week.

Sportsbar
The same rules as for the clubhouses also apply to the Sportsbar. If they are unable to enforce the face mask requirement, they will switch to checking QR codes.

Student support with access control

The new regulations regarding the scanning of QR codes at educational locations will go into effect on Friday evening, the 12th of November, after 6:00 pm. To make sure everything runs smoothly, the ACLO and the Sports Center have asked for student support. It concerns the scanning of QR-codes at the entrance and it’s done for a fee. We ask the boards of the sports clubs to make an inventory whether there are people who want to support us in this. Members and other athletes can sign up via these Google Forms! They will then be placed in a pool. Further information will follow soon.

On the 12th of November, the situation will be reevaluated. So it remains to be seen if and when further measures will follow. We will keep you well informed and hope, of course, that student sport will survive. In part, we have an influence on this ourselves by collectively adhering to the measures in force.

Kind regards,

The 76th Executive Board of the ACLO & Management of the Sports center
