What is Ballet?

Ballet is a classical dance style in which dancers demonstrate elegance and strength to music. It requires technique, flexibility and discipline.

Topic

During the ballet course you will work with your teacher on various exercises at the barre and in the middle. The focus is on correctly contracting the muscle groups, which makes you very aware of your body. Attention is also paid to making fluid movements, good posture, and becoming more flexible.

The course is given by Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts (LMIPA) and takes place at their dance school. There is a beginner variant of 5 weeks and an intermediate variant of 10 weeks. Each lesson lasts one hour. Participation is free. 

During the autumn holidays, Christmas holidays, spring holidays and May holidays, Lucia Marthas is closed and the lesson does not take place.
