What is Fitness?

At the ACLO you can exercise in several ways. With a fitness subscription you can make unlimited use of the fitness room at the Sports Center and work independently on your strength or fitness. There are also courses you can take to learn the basics of fitness.

If you want unlimited use of the fitness room at the ACLO Sports Center, you will need an additional subscription in addition to the standard subscription. Look here. for the rates.

If you want to exercise in the form of strength training at the ACLO Power Station, you will also need a Power endorsement in addition to your fitness subscription. read here. more about how to obtain this note.

Fitness course

In this course you will learn the principles of fitness so that you can get started in our fitness center after this course! Attention is paid to both free weights and exercises with equipment. You will also learn about the correct work/rest ratios and how you can match the intensity of your training to your goals. The course takes place in the WAS. 

The course lasts 5 weeks, of which you will receive 1,5 hours of lessons each week. Participation is free. You can register via the ACLO app. Look here for an overview of the course periods. Please bring your sports clothes and a towel for this course.

Fitness compound course

During the fitness compound course you will learn the three major compound lifts. This course is aimed at beginners in fitness and will focus on technique and execution. The squat will be discussed in the first week, the deadlift in the second week and the bench press in the third week. During the last two weeks there is the opportunity to ask personal questions and focus on points you want to work on.

Women on weights course

During this 5-week course, instructors will provide information about hormones and how hormones can affect the performance of various exercises. In addition, the focus will be on safety. Attention will be paid to learning good technique. Finally, it will be explained why men and women do not have to perform all exercises in the same way and how this difference can be used to your advantage.
