What is Windsurfing?

Windsurfing is a water sport where you stand on a surfboard and use a sail to move on the water. For those who really get the hang of it, you can even learn tricks!

Topic

This 5-week course is intended for anyone who cannot yet surf or still has great difficulty with one or more aspects of surfing. The aim of this course is to be able to surf independently with some insight into winds and courses under not too difficult conditions. The content of the course consists of learning how to rig and dismantle, pulling the sail out of the water and starting, luffing and falling off, tacking and possibly trapeze sailing. It is mandatory to have a swimming diploma if you want to participate in this course!

The course lasts 5 weeks. Participation is free. If the course is offered in the upcoming period, you can register for it via the ACLO app.

The adrenaline rushing through your blood when you sit in class and watch the trees go back and forth outside; the ultimate relaxation during an after-BBQ after a day of sailing on the Lauwersmeer, windsurfing is super gruesome! Isn't there any wind? Then SurfAce organizes other activities or just a gruesome party. Interested in this sport? Also check the association's website GSWV Surface.
