– Strength Sports (ACLO Power Station)

In order to access the Power Station, you need to obtain a ‘Power-aantekening’, meaning that you will have to show that you have experience with free weights. You can obtain this Power-aantekening by following a Powercheck. With this aantekening, you can get a Power Card.


  1. Buy an ACLO Card (€59.95) and an ACLO Fitness Card (€65) at the information desk or online at MyACLO or the MyACLO Sports app.
  2. Log in to MyACLO, go to ‘Schedule’ and enroll for a ‘power check-intro’.
  3. Once you have gotten your ‘Power-aantekening’, you can get your Power Card (for free) at the Service Desk.

Weight training at Power Station

The Powerstation in the citycentre is 180m2 and is made for strength sport. Here you will find Platforms, Squatcages, Cablestations, Barbells, Dumbells, calibrated disks up to 25kg, Bumper plates, Specialty bars, Bands and a number of other machines and tools. There are no cardio machines here, you can however warm up at the Cardioplaza at ACLO Station.

If you are planning to train at the Powerstation, it is good to first look at your goals and needs. If your goal is to become bigger, stronger or more explosive, then you have come to the right place.

To be allowed to train at the Powerstation you have to be able to perform the three most important movements in powerlifting safely (squat, bench press and deadlift). This will be tested during the Powercheck. This way the supervisor can see that you are able to use the equipment safely and grant you access to the Powerstation. If you are able to squat, bench press and deadlift safely, then you will get the powercard and will be able to use the Powerstation for your strengthtraining.


During the Powercheck your ability to train safely and unsupervised in the ACLO Powerstation is assessed. This check is necessary because the way of training for which the Powerstation is designed requires a certain degree of skill to train safely and free of injury.

The check will happen as follows: you go to the ACLO Station desk and get a temporary access card. Then, you check in with the supervisor of the Powerstation. The supervisor will from then on tell you what to do. The supervisor will let you execute a squat, a bench press and a deadlift and will judge your skill in those movements critically. After that, the supervisor will let you know if you will receive your Power-aantekening or that you need to develop your skills some more.
